Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association - RonR8601 - 03-10-2024 Hello folks. The AAPI are now members of the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association. As your representative of this interesting Association, I attended this associations' AGM on September 19, 2024.This is an organization of community leaders like police officers, bylaw officers, social workers, and people from all throughout Alberta. I have volunteered to sit on thee Fraud Prevention Month Committee, and my understanding is this committee meets every 2nd Tuesday throughout Oct to May and gathers info and prepares for Fraud Prevention Month in March of each year. During March they provide presentations and booths about fraud prevention ideas around Alberta. As I get a better feel for these activities I will pass them on. So what is in it for us licensed private investigators? All ready the former President now Executive Director of the group has acknowledged we are an interesting group. I intend to sell us as a profession for other players to include in investigation type activities and therefore raise our profile, and hopefully get PI's included to more people and ultimately get us more business. Please don't hesitate to offer any suggestions, or any questions regarding this or any of our activities. Ron Reinhold AAPI Treasurer RE: Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association - RonR8601 - 25-01-2025 So the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association has an annual event in March where their various member agencies coordinate activities around fraud prevention. This year there will be events in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton. The Calgary event will be a fraud prevention display with various agencies having booths. This display will take place in Chinook Mall, and will staffed daily for about 4 hours for a week. The Calgary displays will have a theme around Romance Fraud, and they will post days and times as soon as the Association gets approval and final check off from Chinook Mall. Amoung the participating Agencies are the Better Business Bureau, the Calgary Police, Crimestoppers, Real Estate Council of Alberta, the RCMP and various neighborhood groups. This is a great opportunity for our PI members to do some networking amoung our partners in the community. Ron Reinhold AAPI Treasurer Representative on ACCPA |
