I checked in the thread today and saw a bunch of posts finally on the forums. I very excitedly read through the titles, ready and raring to network with other private investigators and maybe finally get my foot in the door of the business and like, what is going on? I'm unsure if maybe I am overreacting but the posts about Monopoly Go and Diablo 4 of all things, (as much as I love gaming) seem a little off topic for a forum meant to connect us professionals. I found it most likely that they are bot or scam accounts that somehow got in but if not - have I just missed there being no rule about this sort of thing and I'm killing the vibe? If so, I guess I'm happy to engage and talk on a more personal level about hobbies and such, and if not, are there any mods here that could maybe address these posts?

If you read this far, please feel free to comment below, I would love to make some connections with our local agencies and investigators. I'm practically itching to get started in this career as a newbie and any advice or even opportunities are wholly welcome!

Hello folks.

The AAPI are now members of the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association. As your representative of this interesting Association, I attended this associations' AGM on September 19, 2024.This is an organization of community leaders like police officers, bylaw officers, social workers, and people from all throughout Alberta.

I have volunteered to sit on thee Fraud Prevention Month Committee, and my understanding is this committee meets every 2nd Tuesday throughout Oct to May and gathers info and prepares for Fraud Prevention Month in March of each year. During March they provide presentations and booths about fraud prevention ideas around Alberta. As I get a better feel for these activities I will pass them on.

So what is in it for us licensed private investigators? All ready the former President now Executive Director of the group has acknowledged we are an interesting group. I intend to sell us as a profession for other players to include in investigation type activities and therefore raise our profile, and hopefully get PI's included to more people and ultimately get us more business.

Please don't hesitate to offer any suggestions, or any questions regarding this or any of our activities.
